We are dedicated to meeting our customers’ needs with high quality, high-end furniture at every price point. We are currently seeking a full-time Interior Designer for our Holland, Michigan location.
Role Description
As an Interior Designer for West Michigan Office Interiors, your role is to develop design solutions for assigned projects that align with our brand identity and design direction for each customer. You will work closely with the Sales team to develop design concepts, provide space planning, guide finish selections and create impressive presentations for the customer.
Some responsibilities include accompanying the sales person to meetings with the customer, developing floor plans and furniture solutions, finalizing finishes, creating 3D renderings and assisting with quotes and orders. The necessary experience at adequately navigating CET Designer to create 3D renderings and installation plans and working promptly to reach agreed-upon deadlines and goals is highly desired.
This position requires the employee to prepare, facilitate, and participate in design presentations, furniture selection, finishes, and price quoting for assigned projects. Interior Designers will conduct site visits as needed with estimated local travel up to 40%,
Duties and Responsibilities
Design Duties
- 3D modeling and space planning in CET Designer
- Space planning, developing unique design concepts
- Producing installation drawings for final furniture plans
- Management and assistance of furniture finish selections
- Broad knowledge and understanding of leading office furniture manufacturers
- Create quotes and place orders
Time-Management Duties
- Working closely with sales team members to achieve agreed-upon goals and deadlines
- Updating management on project progress, regular communication in regards to design changes and updates
- Provide floor plans and organize finish selections by agreed-upon deadlines
Administrative Duties
- Total management of assigned projects with the direction and support of the Interior Design and Project Manager
- Working and communicating with furniture vendors/reps
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt
- Collaborate with the sales team as well as cross-functionally with other departments such as Production, Purchasing and the Install Coordinator or Manager to resolve questions or issues that may arise between design and time of installation
Education/Training/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in interior design or a related field
- 5-10 Years of experience in Interior Design
- Computer proficiency, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experienced in CET Designer (highly preferred) or other drawing software i.e. AutoCAD, SketchUp.
- Ability to create office furniture space plans and coordinate pleasing finish selections
